Catholic Life of the School
Welcome to Holy Innocents' Catholic Primary School
Holy Innocents' is a one form entry Catholic Primary School with close links to the Parish of Holy Innocents', Orpington.
Pupils also come from the neighbouring parishes of St. Michael and All Angels, Farnborough and St. Theresa's, Biggin Hill. We take children from all religious backgrounds and children with no religious backgrounds.
The school is distinctively Roman Catholic in nature and we follow the Liturgical as well as the academic calendar.
Each term starts with a Mass at Holy Innocents' Church. The children organise these Masses by practising the readings, writing the bidding prayers, serving, welcoming, singing and even dancing on special occasions!
During Lent & Advent we have special Penitential services during which our local Deacon visits to lead a penitential rite. Pupils lead this service by organising an examination of conscience and after the service, pupils in KS2 have the opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation.
During May, we have special devotions to the Blessed Virgin Mary by holding a May Procession. Rosary Club meets during May and October once a week in the school chapel.
