The following attachments, videos and links will help you to support your child at home.
Reading books are changed weekly. Two books are issued at each book change. We encourage you to read with your child on a daily basis. Please write a comment in the Reading Record book each time you read with your child.
PE is taught by a specialist teacher each Monday morning. We request children come into school wearing their PE kits on a Monday. They will stay in their PE kits all day. After Christmas, the children will start to change for PE in school. Please can you help your child become independent with dressing to prepare for this.
As part of our All About Me topic, the children painted self portraits. They looked carefully in a mirror and noted their hair, eye and skin colour. We learned everyone is different and we are all unique.
We have had a busy start to the second part of the Autumn term!
Reception went on a walk around the school grounds looking for signs of Autumn as part of their learning and also for their Enrichment Passport. The children brought in their wellies and luckily the sun stayed out! The children noticed the changing colours of the leaves and collected fallen ones. They even took an Autumn photo on the ipad for their Enrichment Passport. We used the leaves they collected to make Autumn art work. Later they will use the leaves to try a leaf rubbing technique.
Teddy bear's picnic
The children celebrated Barney Bear's birthday. They made and wrote cards, party invitations and shopping lists. They made paper chains and party hats. The celebrations culminated in a party for Barney. The children made a (gelatine free) jelly and ticked another box on their Enrichment Passport! They had their jelly at the party/picnic with their own teddy bear.
