Year One investigated which would be the best material for an umbrella for Ted. In Science we have been learning about Everyday Materials. We had four materials to test; Plastic, Metal Foil, Fabric and Paper towel.
We went outside and gave these materials a very good test! We observed and learnt that Plastic and Metal Foil were the best materials as they were waterproof.
Enjoy the photos!
We started our new topic in Science today.
Animals Including Humans.
We had fun in class naming the basic parts of the human body. I borrowed Sebastien to draw around and we took turns labelling his outline! Enjoy the photos! Mrs Southon
Making Poppies. 11.11.2019
Today Year 1 made some beautiful poppies. We used either tissue paper or red card to cover a template. We talked about the importance of Remembrance Day and had observed the 2 minutes silence at 11am with the rest of the school. You all worked really hard. Well done. Mrs Southon 😃
Our outdoor learning day.
Year one made bird feeders and had fun hanging them up. The birds will enjoy the tasty treats and it was great to spend more time out in the fresh air! Mrs Southon. 😀
We were very lucky today (25th November) as we had a visit from Zoo Lab.
The animals told us about Piglet the Guinea pig who had been bullying the other animals. They also told us how they resolved the situation.
We met a Giant African Land Snail called Fiona, a Madagascan Hissing Cockroach called Jane, a Curly Hair Tarantula called Fluffy, an Australian Green Tree Frog called Albus, a Corn Snake called Hocus Pocus and of course a Guinea Pig called Piglet!
Enjoy the photos! Mrs Southon. 😀
