Year 6

Year Six School Journey 2019

Friday 28th June

Our last day at the farm and although we are sad to be leaving we are all really looking forward to coming home.

We left Wick Court at 9.30am this morning and are currently enroute back home.

Looking forward to seeing you all very soon.

Thursday 27th June

Wednesday 26th June

Despite a little bit of rain, we braved the elements and went out to feed the animals again.

Everyone had the chance to try new activities such as bird watching and bee keeping. We even cooked our own dinner!

Still loving the farm and hoping to get some more sunshine soon!

Tuesday 25th June

Yesterday we were really lucky with some glorious weather. All the groups went out on the farm and many of us also went across to Oldbury Dairy Farm, where we saw a new born calf, less than 12 hours old!

After lunch, we went back out to complete various seasonal jobs. In the evening we had a class talent competition. Everyone is having lots of fun and we cannot believe we are already half way through the week!

Monday 24th June

We had a great day yesterday at the Berkeley Show. The children helped to run a stall representing Wick Court Farm and we entered competitions with some success.

Mr Langford left shortly after breakfast and Miss Callaghan joined us later that afternoon,

All the children are doing extremely well and are having a fantastic time. The weather has been good to us so far and only a few drops of rain yesterday afternoon.

Thanks to all the parents who have written letters so far. The children really love reading them. We hope you have been receiving ours too.

The time is flying by......

So far we have seen chickens, ducks, geese, turkeys, cows, calf’s, horses, pigs, piglets & sheep. We are becoming expert farmers and can’t wait to tell you all about it.

More news to follow.......

The Berkeley Show

Saturday 22nd June

Today has been a lovely sunny day at the farm and quite hot too!

The children are all having a lovely time and are eating well.

This morning we had porridge and boiled eggs. For lunch we had homemade pasta Bolognaise followed by bananas & custard.

The local priest, Fr Bill visited us after dinner to celebrate Mass for us. Everyone is well and looking forward to the Berkeley Show tomorrow where we will be taking part in local competitions.

Miss Callaghan is joining us tomorrow and Mr Langford will be returning home!

Sunday 23rd June

A great night last night. All slept well and awoke refreshed and ready to get straight to work!

After morning jobs had been completed and breakfast eaten we were on our way to the Berkeley Show.

More news to follow...,.,.....,

We arrived safely at Wick Court at around 2.45pm yesterday afternoon. The journey took longer than usual due to traffic.

All children settled in quickly and are having a fantastic time. We’ve all been out on the farm already!

Wi-fi isn’t great at the moment so the blog may be a bit hit and miss. More news later.
