We understand that children learn to read in many different ways. At Holy Innocents', we use 'Letters and Sounds' as the basis of our phonics teaching.
Parents are always welcome to come in and see how reading is taught in school. It is probably very different to how you remember learning to read yourselves.
Reading out loud is always good practice and we encourage children to read for 5 - 10 minutes every evening with a parent of older sibling.
Parents are always welcome to come into school if they have some spare time to listen to children reading. For more information on this, please speak to your child's teacher.
