General Information

ADULTS

  • Mrs Bright is with us every day (apart from Monday and Friday afternoons). She provides lots of support in class and runs interventions for extra support 
  • Mrs Johnson will teach Maths booster groups and higher level Maths groups to years 5/6 on Wednesdays 

 

HOMEWORK

Homework will be given out on Fridays and is due in on Wednesdays. Year 6 will receive:

  • 1 x spellings list and task
  • 1 x times tables to learn (tested Fridays)
  • 1 x written Maths activity + 1 x online Maths activity (My Maths or Purple Mash)
  • 1 x written grammar/ comprehension task 
  • Sometimes, Y6 may be given tasks related to other subjects

 

READING

Y6 children are expected to read everyday and get their reading record signed 4x a week. In Year 6 children will sit reading and comprehension SATs papers so it is so important to read and discuss books as much as possible. Reading records will be checked daily and children are expected to change their own books and select high quality books to read for pleasure. 

 

PE

Year 6 will have PE on Monday afternoons with Zuko, our PE coach, and on Friday afternoons with Miss Sullivan. Please have appropriate PE kit in school which is clearly named.
